Mystery Bonsai Box
The winner of the first Mystery Boxai is the club "Amici del bonsai" from Castellanza
On Sunday 24th February 8 clubs confronted each other, mostly from the north of Italy and one from France, to realize the best shohin bonsai with plants assigned casually in a mystery box. The tree had to be shaped, repotted and showed to the japanese masters Hiroki Miura and Shitamukai Kiyokuni, the two judges.
A very appreciated initiative, that involved not only the participants but the audience as well, particularly interested throughout the competition, from which emerged winner the Club Amici del Bonsai - Castellanza, that shaped a Taxus cuspidata at semi cascade, while the Bonsai Club Rivalta has been classified at the 2° place with the shaping of a Pinus pentaphylla and at the 3° place the Seishin Bonsai Club Brandizzo, with a Taxus on rock.
