Features
Pumice, also known as floating stone, has the property of floating when immersed in water. When it is expelled from the depths of volcanoes, it undergoes rapid cooling and rapid depressurization, causing the formation of foam and a porous structure of volatile substances such as water and CO2. Due to its excellent breathability and drainage properties, it is used as gravel for the bottom of pots and as soil for bonsai, cacti, ornamental plants and wild plants.
How to use pumice
Pumice can be used in various soil mixes by varying the size of the particles. Using pumice at the bottom of pots improves ventilation and drainage and promotes better root growth. The hardness of pumice allows for long-term use. The smaller particles can be combined with other soil mixes to improve breathability, making it a soil improver. Pumice plays an indispensable role in soils for bonsai. Due to its very resistant nature, pumice can be reused without crumbling from one use to the next.
