DESCRIPTION

The Carpinus turczaninovii (hornbeam) is a deciduous species prized for its pale bark and bright green serrated leaves. The foliage turns golden yellow to brownish orange in autumn and sheds its leaves in winter, giving it a very decorative appearance. Grown in the woodland style (Yose-ue), each plant has a different height to give balance to the composition and depth to the whole. The oval vase in blue glazed stoneware enhances the light colour of the trunks and contrasts with the bright green of the leaves in spring and summer or the yellow-orange typical of the autumn period.
