Juniperus rigida – Juniper – 27 cm
A juniper bonsai measuring 15 cm in height (excluding the pot), with a trunk diameter of 2 cm and a nebari of 5 cm. The plant is grown in a square, green-glazed stoneware pot measuring 14x14xH12 cm.
A Juniperus rigida (juniper) bonsai, an evergreen conifer prized for its elegance and hardiness. Its needle-like leaves are a bright, deep green. In spring, it produces very small, barely visible yellow or greenish flowers. However, it is primarily prized for the berries it produces, which add a touch of originality and visual interest to the plant. The cascading style (Kengai) is characterised by branches that extend downwards in a fluid and harmonious manner, creating a beautiful sense of movement. Cultivated in a square, green-glazed stoneware pot, it highlights the rustic character of the trunk and creates a contrast with the bright green of the needles.

Grow your bonsai outdoors all year round, taking care to place it in a sheltered spot during the colder months and in partial shade during the warmer months.
Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water thoroughly. Then wait for the soil to dry out before watering again in the same way.

Repot the juniper in mid-spring, when the buds begin to swell. Young plants, which are still growing, should be transplanted every 2 years, while mature plants should be transplanted every 4-5 years.
