DESCRIPTION

A Pinus thunbergii (black pine) bonsai, a robust evergreen conifer much prized in the art of bonsai for its rough bark and vigorous needles. The foliage is dense and consists of long, slender, dark green double needles. It features a sinuous trunk with mature, rough bark, which cracks as it ages, becoming increasingly interesting. It also features the first signs of deadwood (Jin) and is characterised by an open, well-spaced branch structure; an ideal framework, ready for wiring, pinching and shaping the future branches. It is a plant currently undergoing growth and shaping. Grown in a round black plastic pot.
