DESCRIPTION

Bonsai are living organisms and each one is different from the others, so the plant you receive will be similar to, but not identical to, the one shown in the photograph. The height may vary as the plant grows.
The size, colour and shape of the pot may vary depending on availability.
Pinus pentaphylla (five-needle pine) bonsai, an evergreen conifer, highly prized in the art of bonsai for its elegant form and hardiness. It features needles arranged in clusters of five, which are blue-green in colour. In spring, the new shoots appear in a bright light green, whilst in the colder seasons the foliage takes on cooler, silvery hues, further enhancing the bonsai’s charm. In spring, it develops small yellowish male cones and female cones which, over time, turn into small ornamental pine cones. As it ages, the bark cracks, becoming increasingly distinctive and interesting. When grown in an unglazed square stoneware pot, it highlights the rustic character of the trunk and creates a contrast with the bright green of the needles.

Watering

Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water abundantly. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering again in the same way.

Repotting

Repot young specimens about every 3 years, and more mature ones every 5-7 years. The best time to do this is between the end of winter and the beginning of spring, when the buds are swollen but the needles have not yet opened.
