Trachelospermum asiaticum – Oriental Jasmine – 24 cm

A shohin bonsai of Trachelospermum asiaticum (oriental jasmine), an elegant and hardy evergreen species characterised by small, dense foliage, with hues that shift from green to red as the seasons change. In spring, the new leaves take on beautiful reddish or bronze hues, which over time turn to a deep, brilliant green in summer. With the arrival of autumn, some of the foliage takes on shades of red and copper, whilst retaining a dense and decorative appearance even in winter. Furthermore, between late spring and early summer, it may produce a modest yet refined bloom, with small, fragrant white flowers emerging from the foliage, adding a touch of elegance to the plant. It is grown in an oval, blue-glazed stoneware pot, with a light blue glaze drip running down from the rim of the front and back sides like a drop, which enhances the structure and colours of the foliage.
