Premna japonica – 32 cm

The Premna japonica bonsai, a deciduous species prized for its fine, compact foliage, maintains a neat and elegant appearance throughout the growing season. In spring and summer, the leaves are a bright green, whilst in autumn they take on warmer hues before falling, revealing the plant’s bare structure and distinctive stylistic arrangement in winter. In spring, it produces small cream-white or white-green flowers clustered in inflorescences. After flowering, small round berries may form, which start out green and ripen to darker shades (purplish or black). It features an exposed-root style (Neagari), in which the roots emerge from the soil, blending with the sinuous movement of the trunk and creating a dynamic and natural composition. Grown in a round, unglazed stoneware pot, it enhances the structure of the bonsai, bringing out its character and blending perfectly with the overall aesthetic.
