DESCRIPTION

This bonsai of Ilex serrata subtilis (holly), belonging to the deciduous fruiting variety, is an ornamental variety prized for its pinkish-white spring flowering and its red or orange berries, which ripen in autumn and remain on the plant for most of the winter. The foliage, consisting of small, serrated leaves, sheds its leaves in winter, leaving room for red berries. Cultivated in round unglazed growing pot, it enhances the intense colours of the foliage.
