The Diospyros kaki bonsai (Kaki), belonging to the deciduous fruiting variety, is a variety that is characterized by its hardiness and sweet fruit production. Flowering occurs in late spring with small creamy-yellow flowers, and is followed by ornamental orange autumn fruits. The foliage, consisting of bright green oval leaves, turns orange-yellow in autumn and sheds its leaves in winter. Shaped in forest style (Yose-ue), it consists of several plants with trunks of different heights that give depth, balance and harmony. Cultivated in an oval beige glazed stoneware pot, which emphasizes the beauty of the bonsai, creating a pleasant contrast with the green leaves.
Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water thoroughly. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering again in the same way.
Grow your bonsai outdoors all year round, taking care to place it in a sheltered spot during the colder months and in partial shade during the warmer months.

The best time to transplant Diospyros kaki is in spring, before vegetative growth begins. Transplant every 2-3 years; once the growth phase is over, due to rapid root development, it is best to do this every year.
