It produces a delicate cream-coloured blossom in spring, followed in summer by large, glossy, slightly leathery, deep green leaves that turn a beautiful yellow-orange shade in autumn before dropping. It is generally a self-fertile plant, but fruiting may vary depending on growing conditions and pollination. The bare winter structure highlights the elegant, fine, well-distributed branching. It has a solid, well-proportioned trunk with harmonious movement and mature bark that conveys strength and natural beauty. The nebari is visible and well-defined, giving balance and a striking presence to the overall composition. Cultivated in a rectangular green-blue glazed stoneware pot, with clean, bold lines that create an interesting contrast with the organic, sinuous forms of the trunk, emphasizing its movement.
