Bonsai shohin of Cotoneaster horizontalis (cottonberry), deciduous fruit variety, loved in the world of bonsai for its compact growth, dense branching and small, oval, glossy, deep green leaves. In spring, it is appreciated for its small white-pink flowers. In autumn and winter, the foliage turns red and the plant is adorned with numerous decorative and long-lasting red berries, which enhance its seasonal charm and make it perfect as an ornamental fruit bonsai. It has an exposed root style (Neagari), in which the roots emerge from the ground merging with the sinuous movement of the trunk and creating a dynamic and natural composition. Cultivated in a rectangular unglazed stoneware pot, it enhances the beauty of the bonsai and gives it a dynamic and refined appearance.
Grow bonsai outdoors all year round, taking care to place it in a sheltered spot during the colder months and in partial shade during the warmer months.
Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water thoroughly. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering again in the same way.
