The Pseudocydonia chinensis (Quince) bonsai is a deciduous fruiting species, characterised by leathery leaves and elongated apple-shaped fruit, the colour of which changes from green to golden yellow when ripe. The spring flowers are pinkish white, with a delicate, fragrant appearance. The deep green foliage turns orange-yellow in autumn and sheds its leaves in winter. The bonsai is cultivated in a double-trunk style and is characterised by a sinuous, natural growth habit. The round blue glazed stoneware pot enhances the contrasting colours of the foliage and the light-coloured trunks, giving balance to the whole.
Grow your bonsai outdoors all year round, taking care to place it in a sheltered spot during the colder months and in partial shade during the warmer months.
Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water it thoroughly. Then wait for the soil to dry out before watering again in the same way.
