This Furoshiki is characterized by the rich pictorial strength, by the skill of the expressive lines. Rabbits, monkeys and frogs are anthropomorphized and the animals jump out of the cloth on which they are drawn.

Choju jinbutsu giga
National Treasure Choju-jinbutsu-giga is a picture book; made with black ink paint; it is currently preserved in the Kozan-ji temple in Kyoto. The contents depict animals and people which together show the society of ancient times. The current configuration consists of 4 volumes named A, B, C, D. The most famous panel tells the story of playful anthropomorphized rabbits, frogs, monkeys, etc. who engage in water games, gambling, sumo fight, fights and more. The theory is that the artist used these drawings to satirize contemporary human and social customs of the time.
