This Carmona macrophylla (tea plant) bonsai, belonging to the evergreen indoor variety, is prized for the small, star-shaped white flowers it produces in spring and summer. Its foliage, with glossy, compact leaves, gives it a refined appearance. The overall appearance of the plant is harmonious, with a beautiful balance between the sinuous ‘S’-shaped trunk, the branches and the pot. Grown in an oval, olive-green glazed stoneware pot, it creates a chromatic balance that highlights the glossy foliage without detracting from the bonsai’s form, whilst the oval shape emphasises the stability of the nebari and the overall delicacy of the composition.
