Lagerstroemia bonsai (crape myrtle), an ornamental deciduous tree particularly prized for its spectacular summer flowering, characterised by light, ruffled inflorescences in shades of violet-pink, which lend great vivacity and refinement to the foliage. In spring it develops small, well-proportioned, bright green leaves that turn to warm yellow-orange shades in autumn before dropping. During the winter, complete shedding of the leaves emphasises the elegant silhouette and fine, well-distributed, harmonious branching. The trunk is powerful and lively, with natural curves. The pale, slightly exfoliating bark adds further aesthetic value, recalling the mature appearance of specimens in the wild. The nebari is clearly visible and contributes to a solid visual basis. The bonsai is grown in an oval pot made of glazed stoneware in light, delicate tones that harmonise with the bark and surface moss.
