DESCRIPTION

This bonsai of Acer palmatum Arakawa is a deciduous species highly valued for its delicate and finely engraved foliage, which in spring presents itself with vivid green-yellow hues, evolving during the season towards more intense and warm colours in autumn, and then shedding its leaves in winter. The tree has a characteristic wrinkled, cortical trunk. The strongly fissured bark conveys a sense of maturity and rusticity. This bonsai is characterised by a sinuous, harmonious trunk that develops with elegant movements, giving the plant dynamism and naturalness. The branching is well-distributed and creates a compact but light foliage with neatly arranged antlers that enhance the fineness of the leaves. It is grown in a dark blue glazed ceramic cloud pot, which creates a refined colour contrast with the foliage tones and contributes to the overall elegance of the bonsai.

How to keep your bonsai healthy
Icona esposizione
Location

Protect the foliage from the intense summer sun, while exposing it to the sun in autumn to intensify the color of the leaves. In winter, it is best to protect the root system from frost, especially when grown in very shallow pots or with exposed roots.

Watering

Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water abundantly. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering again in the same way.
