DESCRIPTION

Bonsai of Acer palmatum (maple), a deciduous species, prized for its palmate leaves with vibrant seasonal colors. The bright green foliage turns orange-yellow to deep red in autumn and sheds its leaves in winter. This bonsai has a sinuous trunk that gives it a natural and elegant appearance, and thin branches that branch out upwards. It is cultivated in rock style (Seki-joju), where the trunk grows clinging to the stone and the exposed roots firmly wrap around the rock, evoking the power of nature and the plant’s ability to adapt to harsh environments. Cultivated in an oval blue glazed stoneware pot, creates a refined contrast with the color of the foliage, elegantly enhancing the composition.

How to keep your bonsai healthy

Location

Protect the foliage from the intense summer sun, while exposing it to the sun in autumn to intensify the color of the leaves. In winter, it is best to protect the root system from frost, especially when grown in very shallow pots or with exposed roots.
