DESCRIPTION

Bonsai of Acer palmatum Yamamomiji (Maple), a deciduous species, prized for its extraordinary colour variability and delicate foliage. The bright orange-red foliage is coloured a delicate green, sometimes retaining slight reddish shades on the margins or young growths. In autumn, the foliage lights up with intense colours ranging from bright red to orange and golden yellow, and sheds its leaves in winter. It has a trunk with sinuous movement. Set in an informal upright style (moyogi), it is characterised by a slender, slightly sinuous trunk that lends naturalness and movement to the composition. The fine, well-distributed branching creates an airy, balanced foliage, enhancing the lightness typical of maples. Cultivated in an oval cream glazed stoneware pot, it enhances the delicate shades of the foliage.

Location
