DESCRIPTION

An Ulmus parviflora (elm) bonsai, a deciduous species, highly prized for its hardiness, harmonious growth and dense branching. The crown, composed of small, serrated green leaves, is compact and well-balanced, giving the bonsai a mature character steeped in history. In autumn, the foliage turns an orange-yellow colour and falls in winter. It features a stump style (Kabudachi) arrangement in which the trunks grow from the same base, with a single root system that effectively makes them a single tree. It is grown in a round, unglazed stoneware pot, which enhances the rustic quality of the trunk and creates a contrast with the bright green of the needles.
