DESCRIPTION

A Carpinus orientalis (hornbeam) bonsai, of the deciduous variety, is prized for its delicate branching and finely serrated leaves. The foliage is a vibrant, bright green in spring and summer, turning from golden yellow to brownish orange in autumn, and becoming bare in winter, giving it a highly decorative appearance. It has a harmonious, natural-looking trunk, with well-spaced branches that branch out in a balanced manner, creating a structure that lends balance and depth to the whole. Grown in a cream-glazed oval stoneware pot, it enhances the composition without distracting the eye; it highlights the light colour of the trunks and creates a contrast with the bright green of the leaves in spring and summer, or with the yellow-orange hues typical of autumn.
