DESCRIPTION
This bonsai of Pinus Pentaphylla (five-needle pine) is a prized conifer, highly valued in the bonsai art for its elegant bearing and durability. It has needles grouped in clumps of five, blue-green in colour. As the bark of this species grows older, it becomes more interesting. The oval blue glazed stoneware pot enhances the rustic nature of the trunk and contrasts with the bright green of the needles, lending elegance to the composition. The bonsai presents sinuous movement of the trunk that conveys balance; at the base it has well-developed exposed roots that branch out above the ground, adding aesthetic value and strength as they represent the stability, anchorage and maturity of the tree.
