DESCRIPTION

The bonsai of Pinus thunbergii (black pine), an evergreen conifer, is robust and highly valued in the bonsai art for its wrinkled bark and vigorous needles. The foliage is dense and consists of double, long, thin, bright green needles. It has a sinuous trunk, characterized by soft, natural curves that give it dynamism and visual maturity. The mature, rough bark cracks with age, becoming increasingly interesting. Cultivated in a rectangular unglazed stoneware pot, with smoothed corners, enhances the color contrast and enhances the natural aesthetics of the bonsai.
