Juniperus chinensis - Juniper - 24 cm

A Shohin bonsai of Juniperus chinensis (juniper), a highly attractive evergreen conifer, is prized for its elegance and remarkable hardiness. The deep green, needle-like foliage, dense and compact, creates well-defined masses that enhance the structure and lend depth to the composition. Over time, the bark tends to crack, taking on a mature appearance, a feature that adds to the character of the specimen. The semi-cascade style with shari (Sharimiki) features visible jin on the branches and shari on the trunk, lending the plant an air of antiquity and strength. This style blends living and dead wood, highlighting the plant’s resilience and beauty. The overall effect conveys balance, solidity and harmony, with a dynamic line that guides the eye from the base to the very top of the canopy. It is grown in an unglazed rectangular stoneware pot, whose natural, textured tones evoke the elements of earth and rock, enhancing the authenticity of the composition and lending the bonsai a majestic and refined appearance.
Grow bonsai outdoors all year round, taking care to place it in a sheltered spot during the colder months and in partial shade during the warmer months.
Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water it thoroughly. Then wait for the soil to dry out before watering again in the same way.
