DESCRIPTION

A shohin bonsai of Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘sekka’ (false cypress), an evergreen conifer prized for its slow growth, hardiness and the sculptural beauty of its dense, orderly branches. The ‘sekka’ variety is sought after for its unique foliage, consisting of tiny, dense, overlapping scales that form small, compact, three-dimensional rosettes. The new shoots are distinguished by their bright, light green hue, which contrasts delicately with the deeper green of the mature foliage, creating a refined interplay of colours and textures throughout the year. It is grown in a rectangular, unglazed stoneware pot, whose natural, textured tones evoke the elements of earth and rock, enhancing the authenticity of the composition and lending the bonsai a majestic and refined appearance.
