A Juniperus chinensis (juniper) bonsai, a highly attractive evergreen conifer, is prized for its elegance and remarkable hardiness. The dense, compact, needle-like foliage, a deep green in colour, forms well-defined masses that enhance the structure and lend depth to the composition. Over time, the bark tends to crack, taking on a mature appearance, a feature that adds to the specimen’s character. The overall effect conveys balance, solidity and harmony, with a dynamic line that guides the eye from the base to the top of the crown.
