DESCRIPTION

A Juniperus chinensis (juniper) bonsai, a highly attractive evergreen conifer, prized for its elegance and remarkable hardiness. The deep green, needle-like foliage, dense and compact, creates well-defined masses that enhance the structure and lend depth to the composition. Over time, the bark tends to crack, taking on a mature appearance, a feature that enhances the specimen’s character. This bonsai is cultivated in the rock style (Seki-joju), where the trunk grows clinging to the stone and the roots wrap around the rock in a striking manner, evoking the power of nature and the plant’s ability to adapt to inhospitable environments. The overall effect conveys balance, solidity and harmony, with a dynamic line that draws the eye from the base to the very top of the canopy. Cultivated in a round, turquoise-glazed stoneware pot, it creates a refined contrast with the colour of the foliage, elegantly enhancing the composition.
