DESCRIPTION

A Pinus pentaphylla (five-needle pine) bonsai, a prized conifer, highly valued in the art of bonsai for its elegant form and hardiness. Its needles grow in clusters of five and are bluish-green in colour. As it ages, the bark of this species cracks, becoming increasingly interesting. The bonsai has a slightly sloping trunk and, at the base, well-developed exposed roots that branch out above the soil, adding both aesthetic value and strength, as they represent the tree’s stability, anchorage and maturity. Grown in a round, unglazed terracotta pot, it highlights the rustic character of the trunk and creates a contrast with the bright green of the needles.
