Juniperus chinensis itoigawa (juniper) bonsai, an evergreen conifer, is prized for its elegance and resilience to a variety of conditions. The dense, compact, needle-like foliage, a deep green in colour, creates well-defined masses that enhance the structure and lend depth to the composition. Over time, the bark tends to crack, taking on a mature appearance, which adds to its character. Cultivated in a rectangular, blue-glazed stoneware pot, it enhances the colour of the trunk and creates a contrast with the bright green of the foliage without detracting from the specimen itself.
