DESCRIPTION

A Pinus thunbergii Kotobuki (black pine) bonsai, a robust evergreen conifer much prized in the art of bonsai for its rough bark and vigorous needles. The foliage is dense and consists of long, slender, dark green double needles. It features a trunk with mature, rough bark, which cracks as it ages, becoming increasingly interesting. At the base, it has well-developed exposed roots that branch out above the ground, adding both aesthetic value and strength, as they represent the tree’s stability, anchorage and maturity. Grown in a round, unglazed terracotta pot, it highlights the movement of the trunk and the balance of the crown, without distracting from the bonsai itself.
