DESCRIPTION

A Pinus thunbergii Kotobuki (black pine) bonsai, a robust evergreen conifer highly prized in the art of bonsai for its rough bark and vigorous needles. The foliage is dense and consists of long, slender, dark green double needles. It features a trunk with mature, rugged bark, which cracks as it ages, becoming increasingly striking. At the base, it has well-developed exposed roots that branch out above the ground, adding both aesthetic value and strength, as they symbolise the tree’s stability, anchorage and maturity. Grown in a rectangular, unglazed stoneware pot, it enhances the colour contrast and brings out the natural beauty of the bonsai.
