Durantha bonsai, an evergreen plant that produces both flowers and fruit, prized for its compact and vibrant foliage. The foliage consists of small, oval leaves with slightly serrated edges, which remain a deep, bright green throughout the year. It produces small, delicate flowers, lilac or purplish in colour (sometimes white), arranged in pendulous clusters, which appear from late spring through to summer. The flowers are followed by small, spherical, yellow-orange berries (which are highly toxic) that ripen between summer and autumn. It features a double-trunk style (Sokan), characterised by two trunks emerging from the base, with well-structured exposed roots, creating a dynamic composition that lends stability and harmony. Grown in an oval, blue-glazed stoneware pot, it offers a refined colour contrast with the bright green foliage, helping to enhance its aesthetic appeal and making it a bonsai with great decorative impact.
