Chaenomeles speciosa - Quince - 11 cm

Bonsai shohin of Chaenomeles speciosa: a deciduous species much appreciated for its early and abundant flowering in bright orange-red tones, which anticipates the appearance of the foliage. The delicate flowers, with prominent golden stamens, stand out along the still partly bare branches, creating a strong ornamental impact. The foliage, which later develops with small, bright green leaves, maintains a compact and harmonious structure, shedding its leaves during the winter season. It has a well-proportioned trunk with sinuous movement and mature bark that gives the plant character. The bonsai is grown in an elegant rectangular white enamelled stoneware pot that creates a refined contrast to the colour intensity of the flowering, enhancing the overall aesthetic balance.
Grow your bonsai outdoors year-round, taking care to place it in a sheltered spot during the colder months and in partial shade during the warmer months. Chaenomeles requires good ventilation.
Always observe the wet-dry cycle: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water thoroughly. Then wait until the soil dries out before watering again.
