DESCRIPTION

A shohin bonsai of Chaenomeles (quince), a deciduous species, highly prized for its early and abundant flowering in vibrant orange-red hues, for its fruit production, and for the early emergence of its foliage. Between late winter and early spring, it produces an abundance of brightly coloured flowers with prominent golden stamens, which stand out against the still partially bare branches, creating a striking ornamental effect. The flowering is followed by the characteristic yellow fruits, which remain on the plant throughout the summer until they ripen. The foliage develops in spring and summer with small, bright green leaves, maintaining a compact and harmonious structure. They take on delicate golden-yellow hues before falling in autumn and shedding their leaves during the winter. It has a well-proportioned trunk, with a sinuous shape and mature bark that lends the plant character. The bonsai is grown in an elegant rectangular pot made of blue-glazed stoneware, which creates a refined contrast with the intense colours of the flowers, enhancing its overall aesthetic balance.
