Rhododendron indicum kirishima – Azalea – 250 cm

A Japanese garden plant (Niwaki) of the species Rhododendron indicum ‘Fujikake’ (azalea), an evergreen flowering plant, is distinguished by its distinctive, colourful flowers. It is prized for its spring flowering, characterised by red blooms that create an elegant and vibrant contrast with the green foliage. The leaves are small, oval and elongated, bright green during the growing season. As an evergreen, it retains its foliage all year round; in the colder months, the leaves may take on darker shades, whilst still maintaining a decorative appearance. It features a multi-trunked (Kabudachi) style, in which all the trunks grow from the same base with a single root system, effectively making it a single tree. Grown in a round, unglazed stoneware pot.
