Unique specimen bonsai of Pinus thunbergii (black pine) is a robust evergreen conifer that is highly valued in the bonsai art for its wrinkled bark and vigorous needles. The foliage is dense and consists of double, long, thin, bright green needles. It has a strong and sinuous trunk, with mature wrinkled bark, which cracks as it ages, becoming increasingly interesting. The well-formed base expresses strength and balance in this magnificent specimen. The literati (Bunjin) style has a tall, slender shape with branches distributed throughout the crown. Cultivated in a round unglazed stoneware pot, it enhances the colour contrast and enhances the natural aesthetics.
