14th Satsuki Bonsai Festival

10 to 18 May 2025

From Saturday 10 to Sunday 18 May on the occasion of the 14th edition of the SATSUKI BONSAI FESTIVAL, Azaleas will once again be the protagonists in the Crespi Bonsai spaces. During the event, it will be possible to visit the exhibition of even ultra-secular specimens of Satsuki from Kanuma - a Japanese location famous for the cultivation of bonsai Azaleas - in their most magical and fascinating moment of flowering and participate in the many events scheduled on both weekends of the event. The activities offered also include lessons, laboratories, courses and workshops dedicated to processing techniques and seasonal interventions for bonsai, in addition to guided tours of the Azalee exhibition.



GUIDED TOURS | On Saturday 10, Sunday 11, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May, Lorenzo Cassani, Valerio Rigitano and Gaetano Settembrini will guide visitors into the world of Satsuki bonsai.

15.00-18.30 • Free educational workshop:“How to maintain, grow and shape your Azalea bonsai”, by Andrea Scarenzi - we invite you to bring your Azalea bonsai

15.30 Free guided tour of the Satsuki exhibition, curated by Lorenzo Cassani



• Sunday 11 May

9.30-12.30 • 15.00-18.00: Free educational workshop: “An idea for your bonsai: suggestions and advice for maintenance and training”, by Alberto Lavazza - we invite you to bring your bonsai

9.30-12.30 • 15.00-18.00: Beginners’ course: “Discovering bonsai”, by Andrea Scarenzi. Upon reservation - €165.00 material (Juniper bonsai, wire and mini-guide) included - maximum 10 participants. Sign up here!

9.30-12.30 • 15.00-18.00: Free educational workshop: “An idea for your bonsai: suggestions and advice for maintenance and training”, by Alberto Lavazza - we invite you to bring your bonsai

9.30-12.30 • 3.00pm-6.00pm: Workshop for enthusiasts: “Shaping your own bonsai: study of the design and application of techniques”, by Gaetano Settembrini - by reservation - €160.00, material provided by the participant (possibility of purchasing conifer or deciduous bonsai with a 20% discount for those who register for the workshop) - maximum 10 participants. 14.30-18.30: Basic course dedicated to Azalea: “Modeling and cultivation of Azalea bonsai”, curated by Gaetano Settembrini - Upon reservation - €120.00, material (Azalea bonsai, wire and mini-guide) included - maximum 15 participants. Register here!



FREE ENTRY!

Entrance and guided tours of the Azalea exhibition, participation in the workshops and lessons offered are completely free. During the event it will also be possible to access the gardens and nurseries of Crespi Bonsai.
