Acer palm. Sigitachi-zawa - Maple - 40 cm
Acer palmatum Sigitachi-zawa characterized by a height without pot of 33,5 cm, and a trunk size of 1 cm. The plant is grown in a round stoneware pot whose dimensions are Ø15,5xH6,5 cm.
Bonsai of Acer palmatum Sigitachi-zawa is a deciduous species, that in spring appears in vivid shades of light green with distinct dark green veins, creating an elegant net-like pattern. It evolves during the season towards a uniform green in summer, to orange-yellow in autumn, and then sheds its leaves in winter. An excellent plant to try your hand at forming your own bonsai. It is grown in a round unglazed stoneware pot which creates a refined colour contrast with the foliage tones and gives the bonsai a sense of naturalness.
Protect the foliage from the intense summer sun, while exposing it to the sun in autumn to intensify the color of the leaves. In winter, it is best to protect the root system from frost, especially when grown in very shallow pots or with exposed roots.
Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water abundantly. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering again in the same way.
