Bonsai of Acer palmatum (maple), a deciduous species, prized for its palmate leaves with vibrant seasonal tones. The bright green or red foliage turns orange-yellow to deep red in autumn and sheds its leaves in winter. It has a sinuous trunk that gives it a natural, elegant appearance, and slender branches that branch upwards. It grows in a rocky style (Seki-joju), where the trunk rests against the stone, giving it a refined appearance.
