This bonsai of Pinus thunbergii (black pine) is a robust evergreen conifer that is highly valued in the bonsai art due to its wrinkled bark and double, vigorous, bright green needles. As it ages, the bark of this species cracks and becomes more and more interesting. Cultivated in the style growing on rock (Seki-joju), its roots embrace a stone that serves as a structural and visual base, creating a striking, strong and dynamic composition. The rectangular unglazed stoneware pot enhances the color contrast and enhances the natural aesthetic.
