Bonsai of Rhododendron indicum (azalea), a flowering evergreen, is distinguished by its distinctive coloured flowers. It is prized for its spring flowering characterised by dark pink flowers, which create an elegant and lively contrast to the green leaves. The leaves are small, oval and elongated, bright green during the growing season. Being an evergreen, it maintains its foliage all year round; in the colder months it can take on darker shades, while still maintaining a decorative appearance. Characteristic of this bonsai is the natural development of the slender and elegant light-coloured trunk which, together with the rectangular gray-green stoneware pot, creates a refined contrast to the colour of the vegetation, enhancing the composition with elegance.
Grow bonsai outdoors all year round, taking care to place it in a sheltered spot during the colder months and in partial shade during the warmer months. Azaleas also benefit from a well-ventilated position.
Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water abundantly. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering again in the same way.
