DESCRIPTION

This Pinus Densiflora (red pine) bonsai is a fascinating conifer with thin, flexible, bright green needles and deeply furrowed bark. The rectangular unglazed stoneware pot enhances the contrast with the bright green of the needles. Cultivated in a slanting style (Shakan), in which the trunk develops diagonally with a branching structure that gives movement and naturalness.

Watering

Always respect the dry and wet cycles: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water abundantly. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering again in the same way.

Repotting

Repot young specimens about every 3-4 years, and more mature ones every 5-7 years. The best time to do this is between the end of winter and the beginning of spring, when the buds are swollen but the needles have not yet opened.
