Acer buergerianum - Maple - 25 cm
Maple bonsai characterized by a height without pot of 35 cm, trunk size of 3 cm and nebari of 5 cm. The plant is grown in an oval glazed stoneware pot measuring 22,5x17,5xH7 cm.
Bonsai shohin of Acer buergerianum (maple), a deciduous species, prized for its distinctive foliage that changes colour with the seasons. During spring and summer its leaves are bright green, while in autumn they turn shades of red and orange, until the bonsai tree sheds its leaves in winter. The well-structured trunk is distinguished by a broad, firmly anchored base, with a prominent nebari (shallow root system) that expands naturally and harmoniously, conveying stability and maturity. The light-colored, slightly rough bark is enhanced by small irregularities and knots that lend character and authenticity to the overall appearance. The branches are arranged in an orderly and alternating pattern along the trunk, creating a balanced and harmonious silhouette that evokes the natural growth of trees in open environments. The oval green glazed stoneware pot, enhances the plant and recalls the foliage and undergrowth, creating an elegant visual ensemble.
Protect the foliage from the strongest summer sun; expose the bonsai to the sun in autumn to intensify the foliage's color. In winter, it's best to protect the root system from frost, especially when grown in very shallow pots or with exposed roots.
Always observe the wet-dry cycle: whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, water thoroughly. Then wait until the soil dries out before watering again.
